Reduced eye size in epha2a and epha2b morphant zebrafish. (a) Uninjected wild-type control embryos at 3 dpf; (b) morpholino knockdown of epha2a, (c) epha2b, and (d) epha2a/epha2b resulted in reduced eye size. Variable phenotype was seen with epha2b morphants, some with milder (i) or more severe eye (ii) features including lens opacification and coloboma. (e) Eye diameter measurement at 3 dpf showed a significant decrease in epha2a, epha2b and epha2a/epha2b morphants compared to uninjected wild-type controls. Unpaired t-tests were used to compare data. * p < 0.05, **** p < 0.0001. Scale bar = 500 µm. |
