Cell death is increased within the craniofacial cartilage in polr3asa907/sa907 zebrafish. Cell death (TUNEL, magenta) and proliferation (pH3, white) were quantified within pharyngeal arch 1 and 2 derived cartilage elements using sox10:egfp (green, outlined) to mark this domain. (A,B) At 3 dpf, there is a significant increase in cell death (C; *p = 0.016), but no change in proliferation (D; ns, p = 0.51). n = 12 controls, 12 mutants.
